Virtual Platform Technical Requirements

Confex

IMC 2024 will be hosted online via the virtual events platform, Confex, which can be accessed from any modern web browser. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome. You should be using a modern device running a recent operating system, i.e. Windows 8 or later.

Once logged in, delegates will be able to access all aspects of the IMC, including academic sessions, Bookfair and other exhibitions, events and workshop programme, and social and networking opportunities.

Prior to the start of IMC, all attendees should ensure that:

  • You are using an up-to-date PC or Mac with a working webcam and microphone built-in or connected
  • You are using Google Chrome web browser (version 72 or later), or an equivalent modern browser
  • You have installed the Zoom app (Note that access to sessions as an attendee does not require download of Zoom, but is required for sessions where you are speaking or moderating!)

Zoom

All attendees, speakers, moderators and other participants should  download the Zoom app in advance of IMC 2024.

Speakers can only present their papers by sharing their screen from within the Zoom app. You can download Zoom for your device here.  If you are using an institution-owned or managed device, you may need to contact your local IT support in order to authorise the download and installation of Zoom. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, you can find helpful quick start guides and other information via their support site.

Help & Support

If you have any queries or experience any issues using Pathable or Zoom, please contact the IMC Team in the first instance. Neither Confex nor Zoom will be able to provide direct delegate support for IMC attendees but our team will be more than happy to help.
