It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel this year’s International Medieval Congress, 6-9 July 2020, as a result of the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). This includes the cancellation of all events and excursions. Read our full statement.
These pages contain important practical information to help you make the most of everything the IMC has to offer, from the moment you collect your registration pack to storing your luggage before you leave.
You will also find a complete set of maps and plans to help you find your way around campus, as well as tips for using WiFi, printing facilities and the University libraries while you are on campus.
If you have any queries once you arrive in Leeds, ask any member of IMC staff or come to the Information and Payment Desk, located in the Refectory Foyer, where the IMC team will be happy to help.
Coronavirus (COVID-19): Latest Information and Advice
We have set up a dedicated page for updates relating to coronavirus, its impact on IMC 2020 and helpful links. This page will be updated on a regular basis as we continue to monitor the situation.
Visas for Overseas Delegates
At present, the United Kingdom works on the assumption that they will no longer be part on the European Union after 31 October 2019.
However, at this stage there is no clarity as to what that would mean for visitors from EU countries. We encourage all delegates who are concerned about obtaining a visa, or who are uncertain whether they will require one to attend the IMC, to check the official UK government gov.uk website.
Once the programme is confirmed (usually in early December) we will be able to issue formal letters of invitation on request. Please email email@example.com to request a letter, including any reference numbers or other information which your visa application may require.
Please note: We ask that delegates wait until they have heard whether their session/paper proposal has been accepted into the programme and scheduled by the Programming Committee before contacting us to request a letter of invitation.
If you have any concerns, or have been experiencing difficulties obtaining a visa, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. While the IMC is not able to offer advice on individual cases, we are keen to find out more if individual delegates are experiencing difficulties.
At the IMC
All IMC delegates have access to our Luggage store. Luggage must be collected before the luggage store closes, or bags will not be able to be accessed until the next day.

IMC Bookfair Mailing Service
A book mailing service will be available in the IMC Bookfair.
The service is provided by the University of Leeds Mail Room using a courier service and will be located in the Parkinson Court near the Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery, opposite the souvenir stand.
