University House: De Grey Room
Open: Monday-Wednesday 09.00-21.00, Thursday 09.00-17.00
This room will be open as a quiet place for relaxing away from the lively atmosphere of the IMC. Equipment such as earplugs will be available for you to take a break in your own company.
The quiet room is not intended as a space for socialising or practising your paper: please respect the needs of other delegates. Instructions on using the room will be available inside.
University House: Woodsley Room
Open: Monday-Wednesday 09.00-21.00, Thursday 10.00-17.00
This room is a private, comfortable space, close to a sink and accessible bathroom, providing facilities for breastfeeding women who want to express milk during the day. Paper towels, wet wipes, and labels will be provided and you will have access to a refrigerator.
Non-emergency medical treatment
The closest pharmacy to the University is the Living Care Pharmacy located at 166 Woodhouse Lane, opposite the Parkinson Building. Open 09.00-18.00, Monday-Friday. The pharmacy is closed on Saturday and Sunday. If you require medicines or prescriptions on these days, there are various options in Leeds.

In the event of an accident or incident, or if you are feeling unwell, please go to your accommodation reception or go to the Information and Payment Desk in the Refectory Foyer. If you are unable to get to an information or reception desk, alert any nearby member of staff. As a last resort for first aid, you may contact University Security on +44 (113) 343-2222 or 32222 from any University of Leeds telephone.
In the event of an emergency on campus, please dial 999 or 112 to contact the UK emergency services (police, fire, ambulance / paramedic). Immediately afterwards, please contact the University of Leeds Security team by calling +44 (113) 343-2222 or 32222 from any University of Leeds telephone. They will be able to assist in directing the emergency services personnel and vehicles to the incident.
Off campus, please ring 999 or 112 to contact the emergency services (fire, ambulance, police).
Emergency Medical Care
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, you can visit the Emergency Department at Leeds General Infirmary, a short walk from campus. Access to the Emergency Department is via the Jubilee Wing on Calverley Street.
Prayer spaces and faith-based support
A number of prayer and quiet contemplation spaces are available across campus.
A central space managed by the Universities’ Chaplaincy in Leeds, where you can drop in to use the chapel for quiet contemplation and prayer.
Islamic prayer room
Cemetery Lodge is located on St George’s Field, close to the Fine Arts Building. It is managed by Leeds University Union Islamic Society.
Hillel House Synagogue on Springfield Mount is home to the Leeds University Union Jewish Society, offering regular morning prayer services and Orthodox and Egalitarian Friday night services.
