Abstract

The papers in this session will examine secular and spiritual aspects of the works of Marie de France: Lais, Fables, Espurgatoire de Seint Patriz; and La Vie de Seinte Audree, often attributed to Marie; as well as a comparison of Marie’s writings with the work of another medieval woman writer, Hildegard of Bingen.
