Abstract

Turkey covers a great and important portion of the Byzantine Empire's territory. However, medieval studies in Turkey mainly focuses on the Turkish and Islamic sides of the story. Our session aims to bring descriptive, historical, political and critical approaches to the fields of Byzantine history, art and archaeology in Turkey.
