Abstract

After introducing the Graduiertenkolleg with regard to its general aims and individual projects (paper 1), the next two papers will be concerned with the relationship of fact to fiction in images of the past; they will tackle the problems involved on a theoretical level as well as on the level of individual historical and exemplary examples, in order to discuss ways of how to come to grips with the mixture of fact and fiction in (re-)presentations of the past.
