Abstract

Pinner will discuss the textual and pictorial strategies employed by Lydgate and other authors in offering advice to the youthful monarch, Henry VI; Mills will discuss gender, age and representation in 12th and early 13th-centurt psalters; Oliver will discuss masculinity and male mourning in the context of the death of Gawain in the Alliterative Morte Arthure.
