Abstract

This round table will address the theme of “Emotion and Gesture”, the special thematic strand for the IMC 2006. The purpose of the strand is to promote inquiry into emotion as a semiotic system expressed in the form of gestures, facial expressions, and other somatic displays, all of which can be found in profusion in medieval texts, treatises, and images. The aim of the round table is to provide a forum for bringing together scholars with an interest in any aspect of the topic with a view toward generating ideas and sessions for the IMC 2006 in Leeds. Participants include members of the IMC Programming Committee.
