This session deals with migration and boundaries within areas of medieval Scandinavian settlement. The approach is interdisciplinary and addresses attitudes of and to migrants and travellers in the Old Norse world, focusing on movement and colonization within areas of Scandinavian settlement, as well as the expression of the concept of foreignness in Old Norse texts.
