Abstract

The speakers of this session belong to well known specialists of bridal mystic literature. Therefore, their papers will focus on literary descriptions of mystical encounters between the human brides and their divine bridegroom, the supernatural godhead. Each speaker aims to centre the investigation on questions how the divine nature of the mystical bridegroom is perceived by human nature and described in human language. Each mystic writer develops a personal style, thus illustrating literary differences and also, possibly, a historic evolution in European mentalities.
