Abstract

Thomas Netter (d. 1430) was a Carmelite friar, diplomat, and theologian whose magisterial work, the Doctrinale, was such a successful response to the Wycliffite and Hussite heresies that he earned the nickname 'Hammer of Heretics'. To mark the publication (by Saint Albert's Press and Edizioni Carmelitane) of the first major study of Netter's life and work, contributors will discuss Netter's significance and further areas for research.

Participants of this round table include Kevin Alban (Institutum Carmelitanum, Roma), Mishtooni Bose (University of Oxford), Jens Röhrkasten (University of Birmingham), and Naoë Kukita Yoshikawa (Shizuoka University).
