Abstract	This session examines issues of Merovingian Queenship. This includes the rulership of Queen Fredegund, the alleged Merovingian practice of polygamy, and the issue of adultery in the royal household. Special attention will be given to the Histories of Gregory of Tours, and the so-called Chronicle of Fredegar. The session aims to encourage study on the often-overlooked topic of queens and rulership within the Merovingian Kingdoms.
