Abstract

Paper -a:
The aim of this paper is to examine all the extant texts and records of Noah plays across Yorkshire to find and compare evidence about the staging, in their various local contexts, of the Noah plays across Yorkshire.

Paper -b:
The different possibilities for the purpose of this deceptive and unique pulley will be examined. These include rood veil and lighting arrangements.

Paper -c:
During the first half of the 16th century, the Treasurer's Accounts of James IV and James V refer periodically to expenditure on costume for plays and other kinds of entertainment. Analysis of these payments, the materials used, the occasions and the implied costumes offers some interesting insights into the kinds of dramatic entertainment that flourished at the royal court of Scotland.
