Abstract

Based on different obituaries from the Southern Low Countries the first paper will explore the way in which the Windesheim congregation commemorated the deaths of their members while at the same time building their group identity. The second paper will investigate the shades of meaning given to remembrance and commemoration in the three Lives of Liduina of Schiedam (1380-1433), biographies of an uncanonized saint that originated in the circles of the Devotio Moderna and observant franciscans.
