Abstract

Objects are both a means of forging connections and the physical result of connections which have been forged. This session engages with objects and material culture in Old English texts through a variety of approaches. It draws on literary, historical, anthropological, and sociological research to consider the significance which objects and material culture held in terms of influencing and creating connections between humans, the environment, and other objects.
