Abstract | Connected to one of the high times in Christian church life the annunciation scene had always played an important part. The meeting of the spiritual and human realm evoked fear but also joy and inspired religious thoughts and arts. The several papers of the session starting at this special scene explore its context and tradition from different transdisciplin perspectives, as Latin and German literature, and Musicology, and its place in medieval religious life. The various approaches show the diverse interpretations in music and lyrics, in religious and theological literature, their differences and interrelations. |
