Abstract

In this session, the speakers will examine the construction of conversion narratives in martyrologies and other hagiographical material from Anglo-Saxon England, Iceland, and Ireland. Each paper takes a different approach to viewing the presentation of this theme in post-conversion period texts, from examining how conversion was portrayed in anecdotes relating to international and local saints to investigating the palaeographic aspects of how such texts were presented.
