Abstract

Several recent studies and publications deeply renew our vision and knowledge of Romanesque Auvergne, both in the fields of history, archeology, and history of art - including two books entitled 'Romanesque Auvergne' currently in press. This session therefore aims to present some of the study explored the past few years in Auvergne areas: historical sources proofread; building archeology, construction, technical and building materials; readings church space through the liturgical practices and worship; paintings revealing the piety of the sponsors; sculpture revisiting Antiquity.

Participants include Marie Charbonnel (Université Rennes 2) and Bruno Phalip (Université Blaise-Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand).
