Abstract

This session aims at analysing the role played by ecclesiastics in the establishment of policies and diplomatic relationships between the Spanish Kingdoms of Portugal and Castile, other kingdoms, Rome, and the Empire. Three particular and very different case-studies will provide the ground for a broader debate on the circulation and networks established and used by the ecclesiastics in performing their political and judicial functions as agents of their respective kings.
