Abstract

This is part of a series of sessions on The Later Roman Empire in Transition: The Sons of Constantine. It is the third and final session, entitled Culture and Reform. The three speakers will consider the effects of Diocletianic and Constantinian reforms under the sons of Constantine, the development of the senate of Constantinople, and the relationship between the sophist Libanius and Emperor Constantius II.
