Abstract | This session examines the perception of conversion in narrative sources as well as how identity functions as a force in the conversion process. By crossing boundaries and looking at these themes from a broad geographical range, which moves from the Scandinavian world to the Middle East, this session compares approaches taken by medieval writers to portraying conversion and by modern academics to addressing the source material. |
