Abstract

Animals and their qualities were frequently used to create or sustain the identity of groups or individuals of medieval society in a positive or negative way. The session will deal with this phenomenon, on the one hand, concerning peoples and, on the other hand, with regard to the revival of the memory of a glorious past.
