Abstract

Professor David Warner of the Rhode Island School of Design died unexpectedly on May 8, 2013. Scholars in the field of medieval German history owe him a debt of gratitude for his work on the Ottonian Empire, especially for his invaluable English translation of Thietmar of Merseburg's Chronicon. In this session, medieval historians who have been influenced by his research and publications will honor his legacy by presenting papers that explore some of the many themes of his work.
