Abstract

The series of sessions on 'New Religious Histories' will conclude with a round table discussion about future directions in the study of medieval religious orders. A central focus will be on what a more comparative approach might bring to both the distinct fields of research into each order's past, and our understanding of medieval religious life more generally.

Participants include Christine Caldwell Ames (University of South Carolina, Columbia), Melanie Brunner (University of Leeds), Emilia Jamroziak (University of Leeds), Amanda Power (University of Sheffield), Neslihan Senoçak (Columbia University), and Jörg Sonntag (Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften, Dresden).
