Abstract

This workshop is designed for anyone who would like to learn how to read Chaucer's Middle English poetry / prose aloud. Beginning or experienced readers are welcome: the workshop will be non-threatening, and most readers should be able to make a noticeable improvement in their reading of Middle English during this session. Please bring a few copies of a passage from Chaucer's works you would like to improve. All readers should try to prepare the following passages from the Manciple’s Prologue and Tale: Fragment IX, 1-104, the Prologue; Lines 240-308 in the Tale.
