Abstract

Digital Humanities (DH) involve working on digital data (e.g. tagging, virtualizing) and undertaking digital research. This session aims to present an understanding of research which may not be reduced to simply using digitized materials. It aims to show how well-established projects and researchers can deal with the challenges that DH offers. Food and feasts are well suited for showing methods and databases. IMAREAL (Krems, Austria), MHDBDB (Salzburg, Austria), and the colleague from the University of Leiden (Holland) will present different methods for interdisciplinary medieval research as well as findings on food in medieval texts, art, furniture, and tableware.
