Abstract | In this section several examples of perception of 'Others' in medieval Croatian lands will be discussed. Firstly, it will be proceed to view the narratives of the chronicles Gesta Regum Sclavorum and Historia Salonitana regarding to the migration period and emergence of the Croats in history of South-Eastern Europe. Secondly, the perception of Slavonian nobility in Northern Italy and Habsburg Lands in high and late Middle Ages will be analysed. Thirdly, the perception, position, and the role of female members of the higher nobility in both private life and public sphere of Civil Croatia during 16th century will be discussed. |
