Abstract

This first of two sessions on medieval exegesis will focus on the use of the Bible in specific areas of theological inquiry, including christology and ecclesiology. The papers will all highlight the creative use of inherited authorities characteristic of so many medieval exegetes, and also issues stemming from textual and linguistic concerns.
