Abstract

This round table discussion looks at contemporary and modern ideas of medieval Europe, in order to consider how we study medieval Europe without reifying or essentializing its make-up, its borders and its character.

Participants include Stavroula Constantinou (University of Cyprus), Shazia Jagot (University of Surrey), Christian Raffensperger (Wittenberg University, Ohio), and Julia Verkholantsev (University of Pennsylvania).
