Abstract

All institutions are aware of the importance of keeping an accurate record of their daily activity. During the last centuries of the Middle Ages this consciousness increased exponentially and multiple registers appeared in order to do so. The aim of this session is to explore three different institutions: the Crown of Aragon, Barcelona’s council, and the Hospital of the Holly Cross. Focusing on their registers, we will be able to analyse their organisation, finances, and their influence on other institutions.
