Abstract

In 2019 the History of Parliament will publish its first set of volumes relating to the middle ages since the volumes for 1386-1421 appeared in 1992. The new set, in preparation for over 25 years, covers the Parliaments of the reign of Henry VI. The papers in this session take a broader perspective of current themes in late medieval parliamentary history: the physical setting of Parliament, the role of Parliament as a setting for high political drama, and the professionalization of the audience before whom such drama was played out.
