Abstract

Borders encountered by Cistercians while travelling in various situations and capacities is the thread running through this session, whether the threshold is crossed by abbots inspecting male – and also female – monasteries, of manuscripts circulating throughout Europe, or abbots moving through the various stages of life to the ultimate transitus from life to death.
