Abstract

This proposal gathers three sessions whose aim is to present recent research on the immediate changes that were brought by the arrival and settlement of Arab and Berber conquerors in Iberia after the 711 conquest. If we picture this conquest drawing a metaphor from what the phisicists call the Big Bang, our aim is to provide an innovative account of what elements were at work at the early stages following this event. Papers for these sessions have already been offered for publication to an international publisher and IMC will be a wonderful opportunity to get a feed back from the scholarly audience.
