Abstract

Want to know more about news in the Middle Ages? Join members of the Leverhulme-funded project on 'News and News Cultures in the Middle Ages' to hear about our work and forthcoming volume. We will discuss the concept and vocabulary of medieval news, the logistics of its distribution, and the evidence for its reception. As well as showcasing our research and ideas, our discussion will also highlight the importance of further work in this area - not just for medievalists, but for the history of news in general.

Participants include Adam Franklin-Lyons (Emerson College, Boston), Chris Given-Wilson (University of St Andrews), Wendy Scase (University of Birmingham), David Gary Shaw (Wesleyan University, Connecticut), and Thomas W. Smith (Rugby School).
