Abstract

Medieval Ethiopia was a vibrant and influential kingdom, both regionally in the Horn of Africa and in the extended Mediterranean area. This sessions analyses the role of Ethiopia in international exchanges throughout the medieval period as well as offering an assessment of the changing borders of the kingdom during the turbulent 16th century.
