Abstract

A round table discussion with members of the Climate Change and History Research Initiative (CCHRI), Princeton University. An informal discussion focused around the key themes of (1) the ways in which palaeo-environmental, historical and archaeological sources can throw light on (urban) food supply in Byzantium; (2) methodological issues of combining scientific and social-scientific / humanities data in understanding historical landscapes and land-use.
