Abstract | This session will examine the artistic networks and connections present in Northern European art. It will survey medieval sources used for visual and literary content in relation to networks of patrons, the types of material circulating in medieval Europe, and the use of archival records for researching paintings. The session will also consider the contextualisation of artworks within sacred spaces such as chapels. |
