Abstract

During the late Middle Ages, the notarial office was a center of documentary production where all the interests of the society gathered. The work of the notaries was devoted to writing contracts for their clients. The result of their duties was the shaping of new networks that entangled individuals and institutions from very different places. The richness of the Catalan archives provides us an excellent glimpse of this matter. The aim of this double-session organized by the NotMed project is to analyze how different networks (political, economical, charitable and familiar) were built at the notarial offices.
