Session 1424: Funding the Feminist: A Round Table Discussion

Wednesday 15 July 2009, 19.30-20.30

Sponsor:Society for Medieval Feminist Scholarship
Organiser:Liz Herbert McAvoy, Department of English Language & Literature, Swansea University
Moderator/Chair:Jennifer Brown, Department of English, Marymount Manhattan College, New York
Abstract

This round table discussion will examine the often significant problems surrounding the attracting of research funding for specifically feminist academic research projects. Contributors will debate the ethics and practicalities of the application and selection procedures and pool their experience, successful or otherwise, in these areas. In so doing, the debate will help to illuminate best practices for both present and future feminist academics in their endeavour to attract funding for their research.

Participants of this round table include Theresa Earenfight (Seattle University), Elizabeth Herbert McAvoy (Swansea University), and Diane Watt (Aberystwyth University).
