Abstract

This session examines the evidence for the presence in later medieval England both of an alien population and of exotic cultural influences. Drawing on the current AHRC-funded project, 'England's Immigrants, 1330-1550', it presents important new research materials and interpretations on the place, function, and influence of the alien in late medieval England.
