Abstract

Extensive work on lay and clerical tax records for England and Wales in The National Archives over a number of years has resulted in greater understanding of the taxes themselves, the discovery of many previously unknown documents resulting from their collection, and better information, guidance and access for users of the original documents. This session will provide detailed insights into the process and results of this work.
