Abstract

This panel is the last of seven (six plus one round table discussion) under the general theme, 'Rethinking Medieval Italy'. Dameron and Ramseyer, the two organisers of the several sessions organised around this theme, will provide both a brief thematic overview and a general critical appraisal of the presentations from the various panels. Following this summary, the moderators will lead a discussion with the chairs of the sessions of this 'mini-conference' on medieval Italy. The round table will pose questions and identify unresolved issues for consideration by the audience, in what we hope will be a lively and productive general discussion. Ideally, such an exchange of ideas will assist the presenters to learn how they might revise their papers for eventual publication.
Participants include Brenda Bolton (University of London), Graham A. Loud (University of Leeds), Augustine Thompson (University of Virginia), and Shona Kelly Wray (University of Missouri, Kansas City).
