Abstract

The moderator and the organiser will begin with an overview of the materials and techniques used in the production of the illuminations of Hugh of Fouilloy's Aviarium, and how this knowledge, obtained in the framework of an interdisciplinary research project, was translated into the workshop.
As well as discussing feedback from the workshop participants, we would also like to introduce the following topic for discussion, The Importance of Interdisciplinary Studies, Adding Value or Fashionable?: The Art Historian's, Physical Chemist's, and Conservator's Perspective. Introducing these different perspectives will be the project team members Adelaide Miranda (Art Historian), Maria João Melo (Chemist), and Ana Claro (Conservator).

Other participants include Ana Lemos (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and Catarina Miguel (Universidade Nova de Lisboa).
