Abstract

For the past 150 years editing Eckhart's texts has been one of the prime concerns of Eckhart research, the steps of which can be summarised as follows: 1) discovering and identifying texts; 2) creating a text-critical edition; and 3) reviewing the previous two steps, amending and complementing it. Although, with the critical edition coming to its completion, it might seem that most work has been done, this session will give an insight not only into what has been achieved, but also into the numerous tasks which are being carried out now and those which wait for further research.
