Abstract

In this section three different, but equally important sides of an empire is investigated. The first paper is about the spiritual conquest of Olaf Tryggvason, both in his kingdom and in his sphere of interest, including Iceland as well. The second paper deals with the marital strategy of the Rus', a quiet but effective plan of expansion. The topic of the last paper is the description of the empire, or at least as it should be working according to the Norwegian King's Mirror.
