Abstract

Many of the great theologians of Middle Ages also wrote works of mysticism. The aim of this round table is to explore the place of mystical exegesis within medieval theology. The panel will reflect on the relationship between mystical theology and theology both within and outside of the schools, and in particular in relation to scriptural texts and images that play a pivotal role within medieval mysticism.

Participants include Rob Faesen (KU Leuven), John Arblaster (KU Leuven), and Benjamin Morgan (University of Oxford).
