Abstract

Austria is particularly rich in monastic libraries, which are in possession of an immense stock of medieval manuscripts. These libraries offer a wide field of scientific research for manuscript studies. This session explores the libraries of the Canons Regular of St Augustine in Klosterneuburg and the Benedictine Monastery in Göttweig, that are catalogued by project teams of the Institute for Medieval Research at the Department of Palaeography and Codicology at the Academy of Sciences Austria. In addition to that, three major databases hosted by the Academy will be introduced.
