Abstract

This round table discussion offers methodological reflections on the concept of 'otherness' found in mystical texts. It will discuss the state of current scholarship and ask how we might more fruitfully create dialogue across a range of approaches to otherness (philosophical, theological, feminist etc.) so as to more fully appreciate its social and cultural ramifications.

Participants include Rob Faesen (KU Leuven / Universiteit Antwerpen), Racha Kirakosian (Harvard University), Laura Moncion (University of Toronto), and Andrés Quero-Sánchez (Universität Erfurt).
