Abstract

Beresford, Hurst, Roberts, and Wrathmell (amongst others) set the agenda for village research, in many ways fixing how we view settlement morphology. Since these seminal projects much research has been carried out into settlements on the periphery of areas and beyond England. This session brings together recent research taking alternative approaches to thinking about how we view medieval settlements.
