Abstract	This strand aims to investigate some of the mechanisms underlying the production of knowledge about heresy by inquisition. Focusing primarily on southern France, with comparative examples from England and Asia Minor, the papers will take in a broad chronological scope to also think about the reception and reuse of anti-heretical texts. The second session in this strand will examine the individuals brought before the tribunals and their role in constructing the identities represented in the records.
